Located in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains in New York, this mine is known as the premier mine in the word for high grade red "Almondine" Garnets.  It produces the richest and most vibrant color called Ruby Red Flash Fire. 

The material is mined typically as an abrasive in the production of red sandpaper.  It is extremely rare to find clean, facet-grade material to cut into gems. 

The mines are very restricted, so the mining is scarce and difficult due to the terrain.
